Elemental

Deeply embedded in its environment, this Waiheke home needed a new kitchen to seamlessly blend with its timeless architecture. Set within a stone alcove the design utilised space from hallway cupboards behind to create new scullery and walk-in pantry spaces without upsetting the structural building elements. Inspired by the immediate surrounds, the kitchen incorporates organic shapes, natural materials, soft edges and both textured and smooth surfaces. The leathered stone top is soft and warm to touch with a texture that suggests it has been weathered by the wind and waves of this private bay.
