WINDOW ON WAITEMATA

This privileged enclave of houses sits right on the water’s edge in Auckland’s Point Chevalier. Standing in this kitchen feels just like standing on the bridge of a ship. The owner wanted to modernise the kitchen and add storage while utilizing the existing footprint and enhancing view sightlines.

Extensive extra storage has been added utilising Blum pull-outs hidden behind clean cupboard doors. Additional storage has also been incorporated above the hob where a very long extraction pipe once hung alone. View sightlines have been enhanced by keeping the upstand to a modest height and utilising subtle finishes so as not to distract from the extensive vista.

The well-travelled owners love that they can step seamlessly in and out of their easy-care kitchen, enjoying everything on hand while they plan their next adventure.
